Course
patternThe M.
Tech course in Opto-electronics and Laser Technology has been developed in response to demand for trained
graduates in the emerging, and rapidly growing photonics industry. The strong emphasis on
photonics is particularly important since it is a critical enabler for technology that promises to revolutionize the fields of information technology and communications, sensing, displays, manufacturing, medicine, and the frontiers of science into the next century.
Our M. Tech programme emphasizes practical applications of photonics and provides an educational experience relevant to the student's future career in the photonics-based industry.
Successful candidates undertake the
course for a period of 24 months which consist of four semesters. During the
course, students have to attend lectures, do advanced laboratory
work and a project work.
