NET qualified: Candidates who qualified the National Eligibility Test
will receive a fellowship from UGC / CSIR for four years. However, in special circumstances it is extendable by one year at the end of four years with prior approval of the Commission.
The value of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) would be Rs. 5,000/- per month for the first two years with an annual contingent grant of
Rs. 7,500/- per year. At the end of two years of JRF, the work done by the fellows may be assessed in a manner as prescribed by the Commission. The fellowship may be withdrawn if the work is not considered satisfactory. The fellowship for the third and subsequent years will be Rs. 5,600/-
per month. There will be no change in the amount of contingent grant and it will remain at the same level as in the first and second year.
Fellows are eligible for HRA as per rules of the university if accommodation is
not provided in university hostels. An amount of Rs. 1,000/- per month is available
in case of blind and physically handicapped scholars. Please also see the guidelines

Non NET: A
limited number of University JRF is available for research fellows don't have a
valid NET score. The value of JRF would be Rs. 2,250/- per month for the first two years with an annual contingent grant of
Rs. 6,000/- per year. In order to avail the fellowship, candidates have to apply
for it through the ISP office. The fellowship (SRF) for the third and subsequent years will be
Rs. 2,500/- per month, provided the candidate apply for it. There will be no change in the amount of contingent grant and it will remain at the same level as in the first and second year.
Also at the end of second year, candidates can apply for the Senior Research
Fellowship by CSIR / UGC. If the candidate is joined in a project he/she will
receive the same fellowship by CSIR / UGC.
