Ph.D. degree from Cochin University of Science and Technology in 1986. He has been a lecturer at the Cochin College from 1979 to 1988. Presently he
is a Professor and at the International School of Photonics, Cochin University of Science and Technology.
He was also the immediate past Director of the School. His research interests include laser technology, laser spectroscopy,
and fiber optic sensors. He is the present President of the Photonics Society of
India and life member of Indian Laser Association, Indian Association of
Physics Teachers and the Indian Physics Association.
